Here are two visuals I made to help kids on the spectrum understand that their actions have an effect on how people feel.  When a child is not understanding that their behavior is impacting how others feel, I will draw a picture or write their behavior on a post-it and place it on the your actions arrow matching it to a step that matches how their friend is feeling.  The child typically will make a connection between their action and how their friend is feeling.  I am extremely mindful to use this visual when the children are doing things that make people feel happy!  We use the happy visual more often than the angry one.
